Layouts and traders
We are proud to be presenting over a dozen layouts all supporting St Helena Hospice and providing there time and layouts for free. We have trade support and even a demonstration of figure painting. Below are the details of the confirmed layouts and traders so far...
Wendsleydale - O:16.5
Based on a small rural area in the East Midlands, Wendsleydale depicts the Industrial side of model railways. With a narrow gauge railway servicing a small quarry and factory area with an upper level where you will be able to view processing of some everyday products that you may recognise. Look out for the animated workers in the quarry and village whom you will most certainly recognise. Cato Pass - OO
A Sci-Fi layout set in the future with some very interesting modelling. The premise of a futuristic layout provides lots of interest for everyone viewing. Musbury - N
This lovely layout features a typical country station by a father and son team. Terminus - All Change!!! - OO
A Heritage Tramway in a heritage setting with trams from Britain, Germany and Hong Kong. The scene captures the scene of a typical residential tram terminus. Hopewell Springs - OO
Hopewell Springs is really an exercise in what can be achieved when making a "train set" with realistic landscape modelling. It was made for a special 1940s themed event held by the Chelmsford & District Model Club in 2014. This small layout had to serve two roles of celebrating the 100th anniversary of the diocese of Chelmsford and the 75th anniversary of Children being evacuated from the big cities during the second world war. The layout is DCC operated with 1950s and 1960s rolling stock. Tobyham - OO
Tobyham is a ficticious "might have been layout" set in the flatlands of Norfolk, that imagines a junction between the Wisbech and Upwell tramway and the Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway had they both prospered and survived the Beeching Axe. Hindenbach - N Gauge
A superb N Gauge layout based on a German/Austrian location this layout is award winning and compact. Mariposa Yard - HO
A taste of the USA in this lovely model of a typical small American yard. Stanhem Quay - OO
Stanhem Quay was named in memory of Stan Hemmings, a former Sudbury Model Railway Club member, who sadly died in 2004. The layout is a typical East Anglian town with small quay in a river estuary supporting local industry and the brewing trade. The railway has a passenger terminus and also a branchline that accesses the nearby quayside. Operationally the stock used could be set anywhere in the country. A stunning layout which is sure to be a hit with visitors. Brankdowne Junction - N
A modern image layout set in the North West of England. Brankdowne Junction has 3 tracks running under electrified overheads with an EWS/DB Depot behind the station. Stopping trains and fast trains can be observed passing through the station and the freightliner yard can also be seen just outside the station. A well modelled layout with plenty of variety in traction to watch. Jakes Yard - 00
Representing a small locomotive stabling point somewhere in the north of England. Just off scene is a marshalling yard that justifies the existance of Jakes Yard Trinity Dock Street Bridge - 00
Based on the cobbled streets around the old Town Docks of Humber and Railway Docks with a fictitious one called Trinity Dock. Grafton-on-Sea - OO
A quiet seaside fishing village with tramway, pier head station and funfare set in the 1960s. Dawes Lane - N
A compact multi-level layout featuring station and loco yard. |
